DRUMS

Jason has been playing drums at a professional level for over 30 years, in numerous styles including jazz, funk, rock, fusion and much more. He has performed throughout the world with many successful artists, including Greg Nesto, Steve Hunt and Christopher Godin. He has also been a member of the Westcoast Soulstars, who have supported major artists such as Chic, Sister Sledge and Shalama.

As well as spending some time living in the US, Jason has performed on cruise ships from America to Canada, with good friend and fellow YMS colleague Lawrie Bolton.

He is currently a specialist drum tutor in Canterbury Christchurch University, and works in multiple schools in the local area. He is a member of the award-winning wedding band, GrooveZoo, who regularly perform for exclusive clients, once having the opportunity to meet and perform for Sir Paul McCartney - a career highlight for Jay.

He is also a member of the popular writing and recording project, Baltimore Keys - an exciting collaboration of top kent-based musicians, with their first release in 2024.

His teaching style is tailored to the needs of each student, covering the full range of genres and abilities, and he has trained multiple students to professional level, many of whom have gone on to achieve successful careers as professional musicians.
