DRUMS | SCHOOL MANAGER

Max is a professional drummer with over 20 years' experience in performing and 7 years in teaching. Having achieved his Grade 8 at a young age through lessons right here at YMS, Max went on to achieve a BA (Hons) in Popular & World Music at Leeds University and later an MA in Sound Design. Over the past 13 years, Max has founded, written and performed in various rock, metal and punk bands, with multiple UK/EU tours, festivals and radio plays under his belt.

Alongside his specialist style and unique influences in heavy music, Max prides himself in his versatile approach to teaching, introducing different styles to his students, covering funk, pop, jazz and contemporary genres. With a keen eye on tailouring lessons to pupils' interests along with a 100% exam pass rate, Max will be able to assist you on your musical journey, whether you're a beginner looking to start a new and exciting hobby or an experienced player wishing to refine your technique.

As well as behind the kit, you'll find Max behind the desk at YMS most days as the School Manager, dealing in systems management, business development and customer relations.
